BLOSSOM - Animated Short Film ||TW: Suicide||

"In a world of grief and pain, even then flowers bloom." A quote by Kobayashi Issa. In other words, saying that "Even in this world of imperfections, flowers still continue to grow and live." just as humans, representing ourselves as different kinds of flowers, the younger generations of this society being wild white roses of a Diverse garden. Through hell and storm, roses bloom. Through winter and cold, flowers survive. Nowadays the new generations of this world with dreams and goals of being an artist are going through a tremendous amount of pressure and pain from the people around them. We say "Art is music. Art is life itself on another dimension" And yet with art as a dream, we are being tamed into a system of expectations. Like the boy, whose wish was to pursue drawing, his parents disapproved of him from doing so, merely telling him to give it up and making him focus on business instead since it is a well known centralized /paid job. As a result, he loses his will to stay alive, leaving him the last choice...suicide. while hesitating, his parents came back on time and saved him. With tears in their eyes, his father feeling guilty of doing what he did to his son, hugged him and all three embraced each other. This is the true outlook and idea that society has implanted into the minds of many Art is seen as a child's play and not often taken seriously as a proper job. When we meet a person with a high ranking job or status, our minds are being initiated to think one way as if that was the best thing that any young human should and must have in order to survive and join this competitive life. Despite the madness inside this rollercoaster ride, they continue to grow and grow till they reach their goals. The moral of the story mainly talks about the real relationship between art and how it's seen. How it's taken into account and overlooked. It talks about those wildflowers whose wish is to grow and live doing what they love. Withstanding everything. And the one thing that mainly speaks to parents with aspiring artists, to respect their choice in doing what they want to do in life and not forcing them into your own expectations. This was actually a submission to a contest. We had a month and two weeks to create an animation. It was really frustrating but also exciting. Since this was our first time animating while having little knowledge😅 , However! That didn't stop us from producing our film. Unfortunately, we didn't win...
Even so, we've gained many experiences through sweat and tears 😂
