Black Duck Lagoon Bird Photography 28th September 2021

This morning I went for a walk around Black Duck Lagoon in Murrumba Downs to see what birdlife was about. The conditions we’re great with an over-cast sky and quite a bit of wind about, but I did manage to get a few photos of some birds that were about and had a bit of fun using the Nikon 200-500mm f5.6 to capture some small flowers as well.

Black Duck Lagoon in Murrumba Downs is about 45 minutes’ drive north from the Brisbane CBD.
The lake is close to 300 meters long and around 75 meters wide, and hold a variety of wildlife that call the lake and its surrounding habitat reserve home.
Best times for photographing the local wildlife is a couple of hours after sunrise or a couple of hours before sunset in the evening.

Birds seen or photographed today are listed below:
Australasian Darter, Sacred Kingfisher, Australian White Ibis, Superb Fairy-Wren, Mud Lark (Pee-Wee), Noisy Miner, Butcher Bird, Willy Wagtail, Australian Pelican, Common myna, Spotted Dove, Dusky Moorhen, Little Wattlebird, Torresian Crow, Little Pied Cormorant, Brown Honeyeater
