How to sell cash secured or naked puts in tastyworks / Trade demo video

Hey Traders! In this video I go over what I look for when I am selling a cash secured or naked short put in my margin accounts. There a numerous ways one could decide the strike, and when to manage the trade. My way might not be your way, but it is intended to give you some ideas so you can develop your own trading style based on how you like to play the market.

In this video I sell a single short put on UAL. Selling a put means that I collect money into my account at trade opening, but I am telling the buyer - who has the right, but not the obligation to sell me this stock at the selected - that I would be a willing recipient of UAL it was assigned to me at the 43 strike.

The trade will either (1) stay above 43 and at some point expire, or I will close at some profit target in the 50-55% range; (2) stay above 43 but dip a little close to the money so I may want to roll it out in time for more credit until it recovers; or (3) the trade dips below 43 and I take assignment of the stock, and then I turn around and sell covered calls on the position for additional credit into my account (this is known as the wheel strategy)

The key component for my style of options trading is not being afraid to take assignment and hold the stock long term if it comes to that. This is primarily why I don't play with meme stock - I don't want to own those shares!
