Hegseth Commends Indo-Pacific Veterans: ‘Support Comes From Home Too’

Speaking at the Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies in Honolulu, Hawaii, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth delivered a heartfelt tribute to retired General Stackpole, who served nearly 40 years on active duty and continued his service long after retirement.

Hegseth extended special thanks to Mrs. Vivian Stackpole, recognizing that “no warrior serves alone.” He praised military families for their sacrifice, strength, and unwavering support, saying that they often face an even more difficult job—supporting their loved ones without always knowing what they’re doing.

In the midst of growing concerns surrounding a Signal group chat leak scandal, Hegseth focused on honoring dedication, unity, and the backbone of military service—family.
