BMW P60B40 ALMS race engine restored

The BMW Motorsport P60B40 is being run in on an engine dyno, operated by the original BMW Motorsport works team PTG engine builder Chris Fletcher and Franz Diebold. The P60B40 is running the smallest air restrictors in this video. Horsepower produced from this engine can vary based on the size of the air restrictors, 455HP on up to 598HP can be produced. The P60B40 4.0L V8 race engine was delivered to Chris to prepare it for use in the retired ALMS BMW Motorsport E46 M3 GTR chassis #006 for BMW North America. The car was presented at the Rolex Reunion and was driven at the Laguna Seca race track by Bill Auberlin a BMW Motorsport works race car driver. The uber rare BMW E46 M3 GTR V8 race car was also displayed at Pebble Beach Concourse De Elegance for 2015 in Monterey California.
