Escapement Motion of Seth Thomas 89T Clock Movement
Escapement motion of the Seth Thomas 89T movement (job 5094) after repair. The time mainspring is 3/4 x 0.0172 x 96 inches (R & M 77.308). I had first installed a Merritt's Antiques P-1956 mainspring from my latest batch. It was too weak to run the clock reliably. When first removed from the clamp, it opened out to only 5 1/2 inches.
