Stonington boy recovering after crash with school bus

A 7th grade student from Stonington is recovering after being seriously injured in a crash with a school bus last Friday, and now, he and his family are sharing their story exclusively with NBC 10.

Frankie Gentile was biking home from school when the brakes on his bicycle failed as he approached a four-way stop at the intersection of Palmer Street and Courtland Street. A school bus was stopped at one corner of the intersection—Frankie at another.

“I thought they would like not go, and I would be able to pass through,” Frankie said. “But then I saw them start moving.”
