Mental Time Travel | Katharine Blackwell | TEDxWinstonSalemWomen

You too can be a time traveler! Understanding the strengths and limitations of our memories and our imagined futures can help us make good decisions today. Katharine shares tips from psychology research about how we can improve the accuracy of our mental time travel journeys, which may in turn help us make better choices in the present.

Katharine Blackwell has been an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Salem College since 2013 and teaches courses on cognitive and developmental psychology. Her research explores how children learn to hold ideas in memory, stop themselves from doing things they’ve been told not to do, and combine these skills to tell successful lies.

This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
