Ryan Shazier suffered a devastating spinal cord injury that could have left him paralyzed, but fortunately he has been able to recover and is already back walking on his own!

I'm a doctor and a sports fan and in this video I'm going to teach you some basics of spinal cord injuries so that you can learn more about these types of injuries that athletes (and everyone else) can unfortunately suffer. The NFL often gets more attention with brain injuries and concussions, but we can't forget about the possibility of spinal cord injuries.
