Phil Sarros talks about his latest project: a dry creek bed and drainage, and what the full scope is.
➡️ He explains that this dry creek bed was designed to handle stormwater from two incoming sources.

This homeowner purchased this home as an investment property and they found a drainage problem.
➡️ Join Phil as he shows you around the dry creek bed and talks about each step of the drainage project!

Here is the complete written scope of work from the project:

🔸 1. Excavate existing drainage "headwall" area adjacent to the street
🔸 2. Extend a dry creek bed to the driveway and excavate to a depth that will allow clearance for water to pass through the existing pipe below the driveway (roughly 42" deep)
🔸 3. Extend this same creek bed to the fence line at the left side of the property and allow water to discharge at, or slightly beyond, the existing fence line (pending neighbor approval for distances beyond the fence line)
🔸 4. Creek bed on the opposite side of the driveway will begin at a point beyond the pea gravel & bench area where the existing 18" pipe is located
🔸 5. Line creek bed with geotextile fabric and secure with sod staples
🔸 6. Field verify existing downspout pipes are routed to the creek bed and clog-free
🔸 7. Route new piping from the front and left side downspouts to the new creek area and allow water to discharge into the creek
🔸 8. (14-16) tons of Decorative Tennessee River Rock required
🔸 9. Relocate a portion of the excavated soil to low lying and/or eroded areas at the front and side of the house
🔸 10. Haul away additional excavated soils
🔸 11. Upon completion of work, confirm that the dirt is no longer built up along the neighboring fence line
