starmedia never disappoints. this is the best cast ever (at least after what assassin of the tsar with yankovsky had to offer), they all delivered the vibe with dignity and grace, you can literally feel this is the imperial family even some of them resemble their characters rather slightly. i absolutely adore the casting choice for tatiana (the best screen version of her, ladies and gentlemen), maria and alexandra. the others were pretty good, too. the only bad thing about the movie is that it ended so soon.
