About 80 people who have family members that were taken hostage by Hamas met Israeli President Isaac Herzog in Jerusalem on October 22, 2023. The group urge the Israeli government to facilitate the safe and immediate return of their loved ones. Israel has confirmed that more than 200 people are being held hostage in Gaza after the Palestinian militant group took them during a deadly surprise assault in southern Israel on October 7.
