Former Phoenix Suns and New York Knicks star Amar’e Stoudemire was arrested in Miami-Dade County, Florida, in December of 2022, for attacking. According to sports journalist Andy Slater, the 2003 Rookie of the Year and six-time All Star had told local law enforcement that she had “received a whooping from him for being disrespectful and a liar.” He was arrested at his Brickell condo in Miami. Stoudemire had reportedly punched her in the jaw and slapped her hard enough to draw blood because she’d reportedly talked back to him and her grandmother. An arrest report noted the presence of blood on the sweater and sweatpants. 40-year-old Stoudmire was consequently charged with misdemeanor battery and his bail was set at $1,500.
