PROJECT BRUTALITY 3.0 FEBRUARY UPDATE with Heavy Designated Marksman Rifle completed (long awaited HDMR) and an updated Quad Shotgun that can be dual-wielded (it hurts) with Dragon's Breath shells included. Project Brutality 3.0 is an upcoming version of one of the best available mods for the classic Doom - expect a lot of fun when playing it. Please note that the Project Brutality 3.0 in its current state is still Work In Progress, so bugs are to be expected, together with crashes to desktop (same with addons, they are not 100% always compatible and actual). This is quite a sneaky update that had been in air for last few days and this is a major update for our arsenal - welcome the Heavy Designated Marksman Rifle and the slightly updated Quad Shotgun that received two new functionalities. First the HDMR, apart from the visual update it received for a Christmas update, there is also a reworked secondary mode activated with a weapon wheel - a semi-automatic but slow precision rifle with 12.7mm armor piercing bullets. Compared to the fully automatic, it's damage is stronger, you receive also a new fancy scope with better range to score headshots to any threats that are pretty distance, few shots from HDMR are enough to take down a Hell Knight. HDMR can be also dual-wielded in both modes (remember you simply have to switch between DMR and HDMR modes) and attack the enemies with, but of course the recoil will pack a bigger punch than with a single one, keep it in mind please. There is also an underbarrel Grenade Launcher waiting for you and it uses the standard grenades instead of explosive ordnance, it might be tricky to use at start, of course a Grenade Launcher has been a part of DMR upgrade for a long time. Then you have the Quad Shotgun that received a functionality update with two things - first you can use the Dragon's Breath shells with it to increase a firepower against smaller foes, it simply fires a stream of fire up to a medium distance. Such stream of fire is deadly against Zombies, Pinkies or Imps because in most cases it will take them down instantly, against bigger monsters it might damage them heavily (Hell Knight & Arachnotron variants fall down after two double volleys). But the biggest change is a possibility to dual-wield but at price of enourmous kickback & recoil so strong, that you literally get hurt - yes, this is not a bug, kickbacks hurts you when using all 8 shells (and both guns are pretty big too). If you think about playing the update right immediately with addons - remember that addon developers might need some time to update them thus they might not be compatible right away after an update.
