Vietnam Airlines A321 Flight Report | VN653 Ho Chi Minh City ✈ Singapore

Welcome to Flight Report #10!

After spending nearly a week in Ho Chi Minh City (also known as, Saigon), it is time to head home onboard VN653

Apparently, due to the heavy rain and traffic and long queues in the airport we nearly missed our flight. But thankfully we managed to made catch our flight just in time before departure :)

VN653 was not a daily flight and it is not in service any more as it is replaced by an A350 flight, which Vietnam Airlines will operate from Ho Chi Minh City to Singapore from March 2019 onwards.

The aircraft operating on this flight was an Airbus A321 and it was fitted with an older cabin product

The old cabin product on this A321 was really comfortable as it is fitted with a headrest and legrest

The flight was not very full and we departed on time.

I enjoyed my flight on Vietnam Airlines. The service was simple and the crew were polite and helpful.

However the crew were a little reserved.
I guess on area Vietnam Airlines could work on is the interaction between the crew and the passengers.

A Hot meal was served on this flight and the food was not as impressive but it was decent.
The Chicken with Rice which I had was not as nice as what I had for Dinner on VN654 but it was still pretty alright.

We made a pretty rough landing into Singapore Changi Airport and the braking was hard

All in all, the service is now much more organised and well flowed compared to two years ago. In addition, there was a greater awareness and concern for passenger safety from the cabin crew.
I really appreciate the improvement Vietnam Airlines has made over the past two years :)
