Pulling Down The Coal Dock!

The Steam Locomotives ruled the Rails for many years, joining the west to the east across North America. The end came painfully slow in Moose Jaw Saskatchewan Canada during the 1960’s
This is a scene of both Steam Locomotives and Diesel Locomotives we’re moving in the same rail station as the Coal Dock was being pulled down by a Steam Locomotive as a Diesel brought in a passenger train and a Steam Yard engine was moving around to do its job. This was taken on a Kodak Brownie 8mm silent movie camera to capture the end of an area and demised the Steam Locomotives on The Canadian Pacific Railway where I was a Journeyman Machinist who worked and repaired these Iron Horses for many years. It was sad to see them go as they each had a personality only known by those who worked on them or the Engineer and Fireman who drove them. Each had a story to tell about the miles it traveled and where it had been. Bill Ambrose.
