The Cost Of Traditional Publishing (How Much Did I Spend?)

How much does it cost to traditionally publish? How much did I spend on my journey to being published? I'm going over all of my main expenses mostly from my debut year. What costs were worth it, and which ones weren't?

I'm speaking from the specific perspective of a traditionally published author with a major publisher. My book was published by HMH, which is considered one of the "major" publishers, just outside the "Big 5." I was also a lead title, which means I had a lot of marketing support from my publisher, so this video is reflective of what you might expect from a similar situation.

One note: I said that I did Christmas gifts for my publisher... I should have said holiday gifts! I made sure they were specific holiday agnostic!
