Diving in Mahdia! | Tunisia

Diving in the blue waters of Mahdia in Tunisia!! A fun filled day that I hope you all enjoy!

After a long 4 hour drive we arrived in Mahdia, a coastal city that has great beaches and clear water. The group is here to do some diving, so after we all get dressed on our wetsuits we board the boat, the Sophie Blue, and head out!

We are followed by a small fast support boat and we get to the diving area. We can see the Great Fatimid Mosque and Fort ottoman Borj el Kebir, great historic structures on land.

We get our safety briefing about the SCUBA rules and equipment and then the first group get ready to dive. While they dive we have fun just jumping and swimming off the boat! Great clear water that is very salty, so it is easy to swim and float in.

I then gear up and dive along with a guide. It was great!! I swam with schools of fish, saw underwater fauna and took in the experience. I had a ball. I recommend to anyone.

We then head back and this time I go on the support boat which is very fast!

After all that we where hungry so we walked to a great area in Mahdia that is a cobbled stone walkway with a canopy of trees with restaurants below. We ate under the trees and then took a small walk around the old city and souk. We saw the Great Fatimid Mosque up close and then walked along the sea front to a Café on the rocks and had some tea before we walk back to the bus.

A fun day and tiring day but a great experience!
