When traveling from Tashkent to Samarkand, we took business class on the modern high-speed Afrosiyob train for $12.50. As we went to book our train from Samarkand to Bukhara, we realized that the fast train was fully booked, so we decided to splurge ($15) for a VIP first class suite on the old train from the days of the Soviet Union. This felt like the perfect opportunity to try it, since train travel is so cheap in Uzbekistan compared to anywhere else we've traveled! Was having a private sleeper cabin on the old train worth it over a regular seat on the high-speed rail?

We are Oskar & Dan, two boys from Sweden who decided to drop out of university and live life full-time. We have been traveling the world for the past five years together (including our time before and in college). We're planning to visit every country in the world before we're 30! By the time of posting this video, we're both 24 :)
Uzbekistan was country #65/197🌍
On our trip to Uzbekistan, we visited the capital Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, the Chimgan mountains, lake Charvak, and more. We didn't have time for Khiva or the Aral Sea this time, but we will for sure be back. Check out our other videos from Uzbekistan to see how beautiful and fascinating this country is!
