King's Role in Obama's Rise to Power

Wednesday, August 28th, marks the 50th anniversary of the 1963 civil rights March on Washington and the famous "I Have a Dream" speech given by the Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr. The speech is considered one of the strongest rallying calls for racial justice in history and set the stage for decades of improvements in race relations in the United States, including Barack Obama's election as president five years ago. VOA National correspondent Jim Malone has more on the connection between Dr. King's dream and the rise of President Obama from Washington.
