Hoy, paseo por el barrio River Plate ( Belgrano ) en la ciudad de Buenos Aires.

El Estadio Antonio Vespucio Liberti, también conocido como Estadio Monumental o Monumental de Núñez, es un estadio ubicado en la intersección de las avenidas Figueroa Alcorta y Udaondo del barrio porteño de Belgrano, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Es propiedad del Club Atlético River Plate y fue inaugurado el 26 de mayo de 1938 por el presidente de ese entonces, Antonio Vespucio Liberti, quien, además, decidió su construcción; de allí su nombre.

Cuenta con una capacidad de 72 054 espectadores, luego de las remodelaciones realizadas en el año 2019.​ Cabe destacar que existen registros de que han asistido más de 80 000 personas en partidos de gran relevancia, tales como en el último encuentro de la Copa América 1959 entre Argentina y Brasil, y la final de la Copa Libertadores 1996 entre River y el América de Cali.

Es el estadio dedicado a la práctica futbolística con mayor capacidad de Argentina, y uno de los más grandes de América. El estadio Monumental es tradicionalmente el recinto donde disputa la mayoría de sus partidos de local la selección nacional. Su importancia generó que fuese sede de cuatro finales de la Copa América (1946, 1959-I, 1987 y 2011), y sede de la final de la Copa del Mundo de 1978, entre otros eventos deportivos.

Desde fines de 2020 el escenario se encuentra en obras, para mejorar sus instalaciones e incrementar su aforo hasta alcanzar los 80 mil espectadores.

Today, I walk through the River Plate neighborhood (Belgrano) in the city of Buenos Aires.

The Antonio Vespucio Liberti Stadium, also known as the Monumental or Monumental Stadium of Núñez, is a stadium located at the intersection of Figueroa Alcorta and Udaondo avenues in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Belgrano, Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is owned by Club Atlético River Plate and was inaugurated on May 26, 1938 by the then president, Antonio Vespucio Liberti, who also decided to build it; hence its name.

It has a capacity of 72,054 spectators, after the renovations carried out in 2019. It should be noted that there are records that more than 80,000 people have attended matches of great relevance, such as the last Copa América match. 1959 between Argentina and Brazil, and the 1996 Copa Libertadores final between River and América de Cali.

It is the stadium dedicated to soccer practice with the largest capacity in Argentina, and one of the largest in America.
