Our recommendation, always use ice and water shield up the rake edge of your home. Additionally, be sure a starter strip is used up the rake to ensure a good seal between the shingle and the edge of your roof. This will add a few dollars per linear foot of roof edge without a doubt, but if you have ever had a roof leak you know these are dollars well spent!
