Recurve Chronograph testing, Black Wolf, Stalker Coyote, Bear Supermag

Just for fun I tested out 3 different recurves with similar draw weights. 48" Bear Super magnum 50#, 56" Stalker Coyote, 60" Win and Win Black Wolf 50#. I shoot instinctive and split finger when target shooting and hunting. All three bows shoot fantastic, and are enjoyable to shoot.

***EDIT, the Stalker Momentum shown at the end with a 465 Grain arrow is actually .37 not the .42 shown.

My draw length is 27.5"
Arrow weights tested are 590 Grains, 465 Grains, 440 Grains.
Draw weights at 27.5" are
Bear 48.1#
Stalker 48.9#
Black Wolf 49.3#

Slower heavier arrows all have a higher Kinetic Energy and Momentum rating. Dropping 150 Grains of arrow weight (heaviest to lightest arrow) Gained 20FPS on all 3 bows. All 3 bows in my opinion were more than satisfactory in their velocity. And all shot well.

A well placed shot with a sharp point will produce the best results when hunting. Any of these setups would work for black bear, deer, elk and even a Moose. But a heavier slower arrow will be the best insurance.
