I finished building my own split-top Roubo Workbench for under $200 in materials and hardware costs. Get some ideas for your own bench here.

Southern Yellow Pine from Home Depot: 12 total boards of 2x10, 8' long. Cost = ~$95

Dowels for bench dogs: 3/4in dowels from Walmart. They are Poplar, but the wood doesn't matter that much.
Cost = $5

Lag bolts are from Lowes.
Cost = $5
