My flying career ~ 20 year military (9 Navy, 11 Coast Guard), 2 years in a Fire/Sheriff Air Unit

Being motivated by my upcoming ROTC 25 year reunion in Tucson, AZ, I put together a set of pictures from my career flying. I am not bragging in any way, but am proud of the things I have done and been blessed to be a part of.

~ Approx. 5600 flight hours

~ 6 helicopter types flown as aircraft commander (H-60 Sea Hawk, H-3 Sea King, H-65 Dolphin, TH-57 Sea Ranger, H-1 Huey, OH-58 Kiowa), as well as many other sub types and variants

~ Approximately 94 persons rescued via hoist or medevac

~ 3 mass-casualty rescue events (Hurricane Katrina, sinking Haitian freighter off of Cuba, Montecito Mudslide event)

~ 5 military duty stations and 1 civilian air unit (with lots of training and transition units between each platform): HS-4 Black Knights, Pensacola Search and Rescue, Air Station San Francisco, Helicopter Training Squadron 28, Air Station Borinquen, Santa Barbara County Air Support Unit

~ Lots of friends and professional colleagues along the way
~Epic cross country trips (Pensacola to Halifax, Pensacola to Key West, San Francisco to North Carolina

~Mass migrant assistance events throughout the Caribbean
~Assistance in large cocaine bust off the Dominican Republic

~Time aboard a submarine, a jet, and many airplanes due to the position and place I held throughout my service

~Awards, honors, and recognition because of the work my crew and I did with a helicopter

~Fighting wildland fires, day and night (night vision goggles)

~Participation in airborne law enforcement events, and assisting with the apprehension and detainment of dangerous subjects.

~Seeing the world in the Navy and Coast Guard

~Land based deployments in the Bahamas and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba

~Meeting my wife because of my first Coast Guard duty station

~Having my family with me during my last flight in the Coast Guard as an aircraft commander
