40th birthday of my 1981 Gibson Les Paul XR-2

My beloved Gibson Les Paul XR-2 is 40 years old today (according to its serial number). I’ve enjoyed it for 30 of those.

It was my main guitar in the bands Liquid Velvet, Deacon Jones, The Steppers, Seldomfence, and Argonauti.

Something about it prompted me to improvise and write new music more than any other guitars I’ve owned.
