Why Australia's famous Byron Bay beach is disappearing - BBC News

Byron Bay on the New South Wales north coast is a surfing and tourism hotspot.

But for the past six months its most popular attraction, Main Beach, has been steadily eroding.

Professor Rodger Tomlinson from the Griffith Centre for Coastal Management, explained to the BBC how his team had identified the cause of the erosion: a process called "headland bypassing".
