How to Open Toyota Corolla Hood?

Opening your Toyota Corolla's hood is a straightforward process involving two latches. First, locate the primary hood release lever inside the cabin. This is typically found on the driver's side, low on the dashboard or kick panel, often marked with a car icon with the hood ajar. Pull this lever firmly; you'll hear a distinct "pop" as the hood partially releases. Next, proceed to the front of your Corolla. The hood will now be slightly ajar, allowing you to reach underneath its leading edge. Feel around the center, usually near the Toyota emblem, for the secondary safety latch. This is a small lever or tab that needs to be either pushed up, slid to the side, or squeezed. While manipulating this safety latch, gently lift the hood. Once disengaged, the hood will open fully. Finally, locate the metal prop rod, usually clipped to the underside of the hood or within the engine bay, and secure it into the designated hole to keep the hood safely open while you work.
