Listed below are the steps I took before moving to Las Vegas
1. I made the commitment to live in Vegas, whether in the next 1-2 months or further down the road (I wanted out of California)
2. I spoke with everyone I could think of that might have some connection to Vegas (I was actually surprised to find out how many people I knew had a connection)
3. I read the Las Vegas forum on www.citydata.com A LOT!
4. I flew to Vegas the Monday after Thanksgiving because flights and hotels are cheapest during the holidays
5. I kept myself on a tight budget (this was a business trip-no gambling, drinking, partying, buying souvenirs, etc)
6. I had several interviews scheduled, and had certain nights where I knew I was going to visit to pick up applications
7. Got hired at a job on my third day, and spent the next two getting my work certifications
8. On my last day I found a room available in a house. I looked at it that day, liked the room, the house, the neighborhood, the location, and signed the lease that day a few hours before I flew back to San Jose
9. Was back in San Jose for 2.5 weeks to finish my last final and pack my belongings
10. Left San Jose for my parents house in Modesto to stay the night there
11. Left Modesto around 11:30 AM and drove 500+ miles to Las Vegas and arrived by about 8:00 PM to my new life, about one week before Christmas
12. Never looked back!
