Testing a Carbon Monoxide detector in my workshop

Some recent firefighting training reminded me of the dangers of carbon monoxide in enclosed spaces. I bought a couple of battery operated detectors - one for my workshop, and one to take car-camping.
I was interested to see what it took to set one off, so ran my bike engine inside the workshop to see what would happen.
