Biscayne National Park Has a Trail Unlike Any Other

The Maritime Heritage Trail, at Biscayne National Park, is one of the most unique trails in the National Park System. Normally, we think of trails as cutting through forests, over mountains, or along rivers. Even blue trails, those quintessentially aquatic thoroughfares, are focused on surface resources. Not so with the Maritime Heritage Trail. This trail is completely SUBMERGED, complete with interpretive signage and everything. The purpose of the trail is preservation-oriented, as the shipwrecks it preserves are intended to display the long and stories maritime history at Biscayne National Park. It's a fascinating conservation experiment, and I can't wait to tell you about it.
