Crews began to clean up and assess the damage at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 7, a day after hundreds of pro-Trump insurrectionists stormed the building. It was a morning of carting off broken furniture while walking by shattered windows. Vacuum cleaners could be heard going over floors and furniture covered in residue released by fire extinguishers.
