METROID Medley — Movt. 1: The Last Metroid (for Wind Band)

The METROID Medley is a multi-movement suite arranged by Spencer Akey of various songs from the soundtracks of games in the Metroid® series. It is arranged for a full wind ensemble and is written for premier high-school and college-level ensembles.

The Metroid® series is a classic Nintendo franchise, with it's first game released in 1986 on the Nintendo Entertainment System®. The main character is Samus Aran, a bounty hunter hired to wipe out the alien predator species known as the Metroids. The games excel at emulating a feeling of exploration, isolation, and at times horror. The series would become iconic in the larger video game community as a paragon of speed running.
