We are an Indian couple who are die-hard foodies and amateur but passionate cooks! We love to cook together. Kitchen is our favorite place in the house! For us the crunch of vegetables, sounds of chopping and slicing, sizzles in pans and pots, clinking of utensils and a medley of all the other sounds in a kitchen are music to the ears! With this channel we would like to give you a sneak peak into our kitchen and share with you our pleasure of cooking and eating!

We are moving from Paris, France to Seoul, South Korea! We are required to undergo a 14 days institutional quarantine in a hotel in Seoul before we can start our life there. We are quarantined in the Hotel Skypark Dongdaemun I. This video is about how we travelled from Paris to Seoul in the middle of the pandemic, how we had serious health scare as soon as we landed at the Incheon Airport and how we were in for a rude surprise as soon as we reached our hotel in Seoul. My husband and I were made to live in separate rooms during the quarantine while the general practice in Korea is to quarantine blood relatives / spouses together.

Some tips to have a stress free quarantine (All in my opinion):

1. For foreigners going to Korea, it’s easier to undergo the 14 days confinement through Government appointed hotels. Everything you need will be given to you onsite including meals along with direct transportation which is included in your stay, if you opt for these options.

2. If you are going to pre-book your stay in a hotel for the 14 days confinement, try getting a clarification beforehand on the travel, food, convenience store runs, ordering food and family being allowed to quarantine together.

3. Even though meals will be provided, please carry some snacks or ready to eat food items especially if you are a person who does not adapts to new foods quickly. Korean food is really tasty but it will take some time to get used to it. You will also start missing your comfort food very quickly. And carry some green tea with you if you are someone like me who drinks 2-3 cups of green tea everyday.

4. It is possible to get a temporary sim card on the airport but in a situation like ours where we were rushed to the testing facility, we were not given a chance to make any purchases.

5.. Most of the food delivery apps do not accept a foreign credit card. https://www.shuttledelivery.co.kr/en
Shuttle is the only app that we found that was in English, their customer support is in English and they do accept Visa credit cards for payment. Although the delivery charges are really high, but that is the premium you need to pay.

7.. If you do not have a Korean bank account and you need to purchase Indian groceries, kindly contact the customer care at https://expat-mart.com/ They are really helpful to Indians settling in. You can make the online purchase and email them them the details to which they provide a conversion in INR that can be transferred to their Indian bank account. They deliver groceries at your door steps in 2-3 working days.
