Reason to Believe “GOD IS WITH US” - Dec 18 - Homily - Fr Alan

In the homily for Dec 18, 2019 (Wednesday of the Third Week of Advent), Fr. Alan explains the “preamble to the faith”- the metaphysical certainty that there is a God, and that there is a foundation of natural reason upon which to place our assent to the Faith that Jesus Christ is the revealed Son of God. The Gospel today gives one of the indications that Jesus Christ is not merely a man, but “God with us,” or Emmanuel, who fulfilled the prophesy given to Isaiah long before Jesus’ birth (Is 7:14).
