Video Summary :
Instead of comparing every pair (which would be slow), we group indices by value and process them in order. As we move left to right, we track how many times we’ve seen the same number and the sum of their indices to quickly compute distance contribution. Then we repeat from right to left to capture the remaining contribution. Adding both gives the total distance for each index in linear time.
