Stitchdown Timber Frame Harvesting Project 2016

During Winter 2015-16 Russell Forestry Services contracted with Stitchdown Farm and the Plotsky family to harvest 25Mbf of white pine, hemlock, and red spruce logs from their land in Bethel, VT, for a custom-built timber-frame home being built on-site. This project was a combination of restorative silviculture, custom harvest of specified products, forestry and teamster education, and hardworking horses.
