Today, we are taking you to Tajpur, West Bengal. Tajpur is a small coastal town situated in the Purba Medinipur district of West Bengal. Compared to neighboring places like Digha, Mandarmoni, or Shankarpur, Tajpur is still isolated.

🚍 How to reach Tajpur from Kolkata:

We stay in the Jadavpur area, so we first took the E1 bus from the 8B bus stop and reached the Esplanade SBSTC bus terminal, paying ₹15 per person.
From there, we booked an AC SBSTC bus to Balisai through the MakeMyTrip website, costing us ₹655.66 for two tickets. The distance between Esplanade and Balisai Bus Stop is around 166 km, and it usually takes about 4.5 to 5 hours due to heavy traffic.
To reach Tajpur, you need to board a bus heading towards Digha and get down at Balisai Bus Stop. From there, you can easily hire an auto or e-rickshaw for around ₹200 to reach your hotel in Tajpur.

🏨 Where to Stay:
Tajpur offers a wide range of resorts and hotels, with prices typically ranging from ₹2000 to ₹5000 per night. While the rates are slightly higher compared to Digha, the experience justifies the difference — the rooms here are generally larger, more spacious, and the resorts themselves are spread across generous areas of land. We booked our stay at Kirti Resorts through MMT for ₹3070 per night, inclusive of GST and a complimentary breakfast.
The rooms were clean, spacious, and well-equipped with all the basic amenities, including a kettle, tea and coffee sachets, toiletries, a hair dryer, a cupboard, a sofa set, and a private balcony.
The resort features a well-maintained swimming pool, perfect for a relaxing dip. The food here is excellent, and the complimentary breakfast was quite wholesome, with a variety of options like idlis, luchi with dal, sandwiches, boiled eggs, chowmein, and milk with cornflakes.
Tajpur’s beach stretches across a vast area, with the main spot being Tajpur Biswa Bangla Sea Beach. The beachside is dotted with numerous shacks serving delicious seafood, and there are small shopping stalls as well. The beach still feels untouched and unspoiled — and we absolutely loved the peaceful, virgin vibe of the place.
