"I will be the number one pound-for-pound fighter soon" - Islam Makhachev

UFC Lightweight Champion Islam Makhachev recently spoke with Russian media about his upcoming fight with Alexander Volkanovski.

Now holding the high ranking of #3 on the Pound-For-Pound list, Islam Makhachev made it clear that he aims to be the top fighter in the sport soon.

He also spoke highly of fellow division member Beneil Dariush and said that he also deserves a title shot, but that a "Champion vs. Champion" fight against Volkanovski is a bigger fight.
