#LIVE Press Conference of the 2nd Libya Conference in Berlin

A press conference is held following talks at the second Libya Conference at the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin on Wednesday, June 23. The conference came at the initiative of German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas and United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to follow up on the political developments in the North African country, such as the upcoming elections set for this year’s December 24 and foreign mercenaries active on the ground. Germany hosted the first round of the UN-sponsored talks on January 19, 2020, in a bid to end hostilities. The second round of talks was the first time that the Libyan transitional Government of National Unity was represented at such an event.​NOTE: Decisions on the provision of translations are taken by the host broadcaster and are therefore not the responsibility of Ruptly.
