Three Miss Rule | Ronnie O'Sullivan vs Ali Carter | 2011 Premier League - Final (group stage)
The worst way to lose a game is perhaps by the 3 miss rule, especially when you're playing pretty well and your chances of winning are intact. This is an entertaining match that you will surely enjoy, even if you are a fan of the loser, as long as you like strange situations in snooker.
This edition of the Premier League has a unique format. All matches in the league stage are best of 5 frames, with no dead frames played. The shot time has been set to 20 seconds (5 seconds shorter) and time extensions are not unlimited. After 3 foul and miss, it's a ball in hand anywhere on the table (unless the 3 miss rule applies). Deciding frames are played under shootout rules.
There are 10 league stages or mini-events; four players per stage compete in a knockout format (two semi-finals and one final). Each player competes against different opponents in 4 of these 10 stages. The four players who won the most frames pass to the final stage. 10 players compete in the tournament.
In 2012, the Premier League returned to its previous format. But, unfortunately, it was the last edition.
Referee: Paul Collier

Cesar Muroya created a unique editing technique to extract the essence of the game without losing the drama involved. Contextual information is also an innovation appreciated by viewers.
This format is not intended to substitute the full version but rather to make snooker more accessible to new fans. The fluency and atmosphere of the game stay in a shorter length video, allowing even experienced fans to enjoy snooker at any time.
