What Is SASE for the Cloud? | Converging Network and Security
As organizations shift to cloud-first strategies and hybrid work models, traditional perimeter-based security falls short. In this video, we explain how Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) for the cloud converges networking and security into a unified, cloud-delivered architecture—providing secure, optimized access to users, devices, and applications anywhere in the world.
Key Details:
● What SASE for the cloud is and why it matters for modern enterprises
● How cloud-native architecture enables scalability and flexibility
● The role of SD-WAN in simplifying network and security management
● How Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) strengthens access control
● Why delivering security at the network edge improves performance
● How centralized management reduces complexity and increases visibility

What is SASE for the cloud?
Secure Access Service Edge, or SASE, is a cloud-delivered architecture that combines networking and security into a unified solution. It ensures secure, optimized access to cloud services, applications, devices, and data—no matter where users are located.
Unlike traditional perimeter-based models, SASE is built for mobility and cloud-first environments. It replaces rigid, hardware-centric architectures with flexible, cloud-native services designed to scale dynamically.
At its core, SASE is cloud-native. This means scalability and adaptability are built in. Organizations can expand or contract resources as needed, with security and networking services delivered wherever they’re required.
SASE also delivers security closer to users and devices—at the network edge. By leveraging global points of presence, it reduces latency and improves performance while maintaining consistent security enforcement.
A key component of SASE is software-defined WAN, or SD-WAN. SD-WAN simplifies traffic management, automates routing decisions, and integrates security functions directly into the network fabric.
SASE converges essential security services, including Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), firewall as a service, and secure web gateways. By unifying these capabilities, organizations reduce operational complexity while strengthening their defenses.
Another defining feature is the concept of dynamic perimeters. Instead of protecting a fixed network boundary, SASE adapts to users as they move between locations, devices, and networks—ensuring secure access for remote workers, branch offices, and mobile environments.
Centralized management brings everything together. IT teams can enforce consistent policies, monitor activity across global locations, and gain comprehensive visibility into both performance and threats from a single interface.
In today’s distributed, cloud-driven world, SASE for the cloud provides a comprehensive approach to secure connectivity. By converging networking and security into a single cloud-native framework, it enables organizations to operate securely and efficiently at scale.
