Big things are taking off in McKinney ✈️

The McKinney National Airport expansion is officially underway, and this is a development you’ll want on your radar if you live in or are considering moving to DFW.

The new 46,000 sq ft commercial passenger terminal at McKinney National Airport is on schedule to open in late 2026. It will feature four gates (expandable to six) and will welcome Avelo Airlines as its first commercial carrier under a five year agreement.

The project also includes a 980 space parking lot, a new taxiway, and capacity to handle approximately 200,000 passengers annually.

In addition to commercial service, the broader expansion will lengthen runways, expand corporate hangars, and upgrade passenger facilities to support more private and corporate aviation. With its location right off Highway 75, this positions McKinney as a growing hub for corporate relocations.

What does that mean for real estate?

Expect increased demand in luxury communities like Stonebridge Ranch, Tucker Hill, and surrounding neighborhoods, plus continued commercial growth along the 75 corridor.
