German Payslip Explained | Gross Salary & Net Salary, Income Taxes, Social Security, Pension

German payslips are pretty confusing with a lot of numbers and abbreviations. Many expats in Germany are surprised when they receive their first net salary and see that almost have of their gross salary is deducted. Our example payslip has almost 5.000€ gross and less than 3.000€ net.
