Joshua Oppenheimer On Redefining History Through Film: VICE Autobiographies

In the Autobiographies series we meet inspirational people across all fields and gain a 360° insight into their careers. This episode profiles filmmaker Joshua Oppenheimer and his internationally acclaimed documentaries, The Act of Killing and The Look of Silence. Together these films unveil the aftermath of the Indonesian genocide from the perspective of the perpetrators and the victims living in fear today. Oppenheimer describes the 10 year process of making these films and the impact they have had in redefining history for the Indonesian people.
