Steps for Proper Nasal Spray Use:

Blow your nose gently to remove mucus and improve spray penetration.
Shake the bottle (if the label instructs).
Position yourself correctly:
Slight forward tilt of the head (not back).
Keep the bottle upright.

Aim correctly:
Insert the nozzle just inside the nostril.
Point the spray outward, away from the nasal septum (the cartilage wall between your nostrils), to prevent irritation or nosebleeds.
Spray while inhaling gently through the nose.
Wait a few seconds, then blow your nose if needed (some medications may instruct otherwise).

Avoid overuse:
Decongestant sprays (e.g., oxymetazoline) should not be used for more than 3 consecutive days to avoid rebound congestion (rhinitis medicamentosa).
Steroid nasal sprays (e.g., fluticasone) may take a few days to show full effect and should be used consistently.
Clean the nozzle regularly to prevent contamination.
⚠️ Common Mistakes to Avoid:
Spraying directly at the septum (can cause bleeding).
Sniffing too hard (pulls spray into the throat).
Lying down immediately after use.
Using expired or shared spray bottles.
