Can you spot a deepfake?

Deepfakes are creating havoc across the globe, spreading fake news and pornography, being used to steal identities, exploiting celebrities, scamming ordinary people and even influencing elections. Yet a recent worldwide survey found 71% of people have no idea what deepfakes are. University of South Australia computer scientist and AI expert Associate Professor Wolfgang Mayer demonstrates in this video how AI is getting closer to replicating voices and faces, and soon it will be very hard to tell the difference between deepfakes and reality.
