Can R-CPD (inability to burp, no-burp) Cause Constipation?

Why do R-CPD'ers experience constipation? Here's our speculation/interpretation: The descending colon and rectum are stretched over time by severe flatulence (gas). This thins out muscles in their walls which in turn become less effective in moving colon contents along.
