Second Test, Day 4 – India win, Axar takes five wickets

The Final Word India-England Daily with Adam Collins and Geoff Lemon wraps up the day’s action, decides the Player of the Day, and sorts the nominations for the Final Word Hall of Fame, from the second Test between India and England at Chennai.

With only seven English wickets to take in two days, it was a question of how long, not if. But there was plenty of entertainment in store thanks to some epic scheming from Ravichandran Ashwin, some top-line wicketkeeping from Rishabh Pant, five wickets on debut for Axar Patel, some staunch resistance from Joe Root, and some late smiting from Moeen Ali.

The series is poised at 1-1 ahead of the day-night Test in Ahmedabad.
