ETL Speaker Series: Dave Vasen, brightwheel
Dave Vasen is the founder and CEO of brightwheel, the leading subscription software platform for early education. With brightwheel, teachers save valuable time through custom-built tools for the classroom, while administrators can manage their business and parents get a real-time view of their child’s day. Brightwheel is the fastest-growing and top-reviewed product in early education, a $175 billion U.S. market. Investors include Addition, Bessemer, Emerson Collective, GGV Capital, Lowercase Capital, and Mark Cuban.
In April 2016, Vasen appeared on ABC’s “Shark Tank” and secured a $600,000 investment at one of the highest all-time valuations for the TV show. Throughout his career, he has been a passionate leader in education technology at companies including Amazon, Cisco, and Teach for America. He was also a consultant with Bain & Company.
Vasen is a first-generation American. He holds a BA from Stanford University and an MBA from The Wharton School. He lives with his wife and two daughters in the Bay Area.
